Really, Natalie? You’re showing your youth. I’ve never been allowed to correct during a typing test, in school or for jobs. Mind you, I’m talking the time of typewriters.

It’s been over a decade since I took an official typing test, but yes, IIRC, you could correct as you went. Sometimes–depended on the program.

Dude, you just had to show me up, didn’t you? Your 95 correct and 13 wrong beat my 95 correct and 14 wrong, like, totally, man. Groovy. I owe you a drink, you hoser.

(I think I mixed slang from at least 3 different decades there, except I believe “you hoser” might be exclusive to Canadians or at least those familiar with Bob & Doug McKenzie).

Wow, Natalie, that’s a great score. Okay, my 95 beats your 83, but your 1 wrong word kicks my butt. If these were days of old (typewriters) and we were going for the same job, I’d lose.

I wonder if they allow you to backtrack/correct when you’re taking a typing test on a keyboard these days? How would they know if you’re correcting? Do they watch over your shoulder? Because I NEED to correct. I’d typo all over the place otherwise.

I corrected about 24 words in this reply, LOL.

How funny! I took this from another person’s blog. I only had 83 words per minute, but I also only had 1 wrong word.

So you only had 10 wrong words and I had 14 wrong words, but I still have a faster typing speed than you. Who wins?

Back in the typewriter and corrector ribbon days, you would win, hands down. But it’s the keyboard age, baby, and I can backspace and correct nearly as quickly as I can type! I win!!
