Are You Like Betty Cooper or Veronica Lodge? |
You are Like Betty Cooper
Like Betty, you are friendly, helpful and compassionate. You want your boyfriend to appreciate you for your qualities more than for your beauty. You may not be high on material riches, but your real wealth is your friendships, which you have created and maintained with great care. |
Well, naturally, I am like Betty! For one thing, I’m not rich. Sure, I can get…testy, but I usually recover.
As a kid, I loved the Archie comics. My best friend was a redhead and my older sister a blonde, so a time or two we even played “Archie.” Being the brunette, I was usually cast as Veronica. And she was fun to play.
Recently, I read on the ‘Net that Archie is proposing to Veronica in a 5-issue post-college story arc. Say what??? Okay, I admit, I can see him proposing. Let’s face it, Archie’s appeal is that he’s a bit of a noob. A dough-brain. A bean-bag-head. What else would he do? Veronica is rich and hot. She doesn’t pant after him like a cocker spaniel. She’s a challenge.
Here’s what I can’t figure out, though—Veronica says yes? Why, why, why would she want to marry Archie? To stick it to Betty? To control him? I’m not sure I understand her motivation.
So, who are you, Betty or Veronica? Would you marry Archie? If you were Betty in this scenario, how would you plot his demise?
This love story isn’t finished yet! I’m an optimist who believes Betty will get her happy ending with a man who is worthy of her. We’ll have to see whether or not that’s Archie. 🙂
That’s too funny. I’d like to see Betty marry a rich hunk, and Veronica dumping Archie and flying off to vacation with George Clooney. Both of them leaving Archie broken and crying. 😈
I didn’t read a lot of Archie as a kid, but I’m pretty sure I’m Betty *g* (couldn’t get the quiz to work for me), though like most of us, I probably have a little Veronica in me too 🙂
No way would I marry Archie and if I was Betty, I’d move on to someone with a litte more between the ears and leave him to Ronnie.
I think Betty deserves a lot better than Archie, but I’m shocked and appalled that they would write him choosing Veronica. Maybe I’m just shocked and appalled that they would write him choosing, period! LOL
Gail, I imagine the story line has a few tricks up its sleeve. I’m not reading to find out. I’m not that desperate!
Edie, I love your ideas. LOL, yes, Veronica would give ol’ George a run for his money, eh?
Natalie, I read this is a “future story.” Once it’s done, I think they’re returning to the never-ending high school scenario.
Teresa, I have a bit of Veronica in me too, I’ll admit. But I’m 98% Betty.
When I saw the headlines, I thought back to the other controversy… Ginger or Mary-Anne….. I was always the Mary-Anne fan.
Figured the Archie world had Betty more the Mary-Anne and Veronica the Ginger. Of course, Archie plays the Gilligan bit.
I can’t remember ever watching an entire episode of Gilligan, so I can’t compare.
