I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned that Borrowing Alex is now available in a Kindle edition. And, if I have, I should mention it again.
Do you Kindle? If you do, what do you think of the Amazon e-reader? Care to rave, rant, pout?
I don’t have a Kindle. But then why would I? Last I checked (as of this typing), Canadian Amazon doesn’t even sell the Kindle. I wonder why not?
If you’re Canadian and if you had the option to buy a Kindle, would you?
If you’re American and you have a Kindle and you love it, tell me why. Is the Kindle your first e-reader? If you’ve owned other e-readers, how is the Kindle better/worse/different? Should Canadians feel jealous that we can’t Kindle?
If you’re American and you don’t have a Kindle, do you want one? Why or why not? Wonder if Oprah gave them to all my blog readers for free, then would you want one? (Note, Oprah has no plans that I know of to supply my blog readers with Kindles, it’s just a theoretical question—sheesh, relax!)
Alas, Head Over Heels does not yet boast a Kindle edition. The Amber Quill Press website lists five—count ’em five!—other electronic editions and Amazon of course (of course!!) sells the trade paperback edition, but no :::sob::: Kindle. Should I worry? What, me?
Nah, I won’t worry. But I can dream.
No, I wouldn’t own a Kindle even if they were available in Canada. I don’t buy from Amazon at all. Nor do I like reading on anything smaller than a laptop screen.
Cindy, I have one and I Kindle every day, but I live in Calif. so getting the downloads is no problem. This is my 4th e-book reader if you count my PDA’s and it’s my favorite. I like the size of the screen compared to the tiny PDA screens, but it’s lighter and easier to hold than my old REB 1100 which died recently. I hope there will be a Candian version soon for those who might want one.
Linda
The Gadget Geek in me wants a Kindle, but it would be a stupid purchase, because even though I’ve tried, I really don’t like reading e-books. I get all the versatility of them, and all the great features of the Kindle, but it’s just not for me.
And don’t worry, Amazon is slowly adding AQP titles to their library. 🙂 They’re all already available in Mobi format, so it’s just a matter of what they pick when.
Teresa,
Gasp! You don’t buy from Amazon? Do you not buy on-line books at all? I couldn’t survive without Amazon.ca and Chapters.ca. It’s SO convenient. When the local bookstores ran out of history books to satisfy Eldest Son’s interests, I learned to order from Amazon and Chapters. Now, I rarely buy books in a bookstore. Why waste the gas?
Of course, I’m talking paper books. I would like to own an e-reader someday – but not until they come way down in price.
Linda,
Thanks for weighing in. I have to say, the Kindle would have to come way down in price for me to take a chance on it. I’d love to see a model in action first, too.
Natalie,
Have you tried reading ebooks on other e-readers or on your computer screen? I agree I don’t like reading them on my computer screen. I’ve never tried an e-reader. I would like to try one, I just don’t want to put out the big bucks into buying one and then discover it’s not for me.
