My peony bush has finally lost all its blooms. Man, was it laden with them this year! To think that monster peony bush once hid behind a shrub banking the house. Every spring I’d wonder why the heck a white, bushy flower or two was poking up over the shrub. Then, when we put on our addition, we took out the shrub. Low and behold, El Peony Bush appeared and has been going nuts every since.
Here are two pics of the peony and one of a baby marigold. It’s in a separate garden that didn’t want to get left out.

Beautiful pics! Our peony bush was blooming, too. Pink flowers, big and gorgeous.
Gorgeous pics, Cindy 🙂 LOVE that peony. We had to leave one behind in Ottawa 🙁
Thanks, guys.
I like this peony so much that I planted a new one this year in a kitty-corner garden. It’s too tiny to give off blooms, but maybe next year. I THINK I chose the solid bright pink that’s in the middle of these blooms. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t choose the light pink, but it’s a possibility that I chose pure white.
See, a real gardener would remember these things.
Ya know, I think there are just as many different types of gardeners as there are writers and no one is more real than the other 🙂
That’s how I explain my “stick it in the ground and if it survives, great” approach to gardening *g*.
LOL, Teresa, I like your philosophy. My mother and little sister are both amazing gardeners. Each spends hours a day in the garden, especially my mom. So my efforts, to me, always seem puny in comparison. Their flower seeds are their words. I plant words, they plant flowers.
Those peonies are gorgeous! And they’re far from my favorite flowers. But maybe it’s just the photography. I’m very impressed!
Thanks, Natalie. You hit it on the noggin. The flowers aren’t nice at all, it’s all me!
JK, they were very nice. I caught them at the right time, though. Most weren’t in bloom yet, so the ones that were weren’t “blowsy” yet.
