New Blog Feature: Tuesday Deals

This is an announcement, only an announcement. I am not posting any ebook deals this Tuesday. However, beginning Tuesday, June 25th, I will post up to 4 or maybe 5 free ebook or .99 ebook deals. I will be featuring books in the Romance and Women’s Fiction genres, and they have to be temporarily free or on sale for .99. I might make an exception for a book normally priced at $3.99 or higher that is on sale for $1.99.

I am not posting any perma-free or permanently .99 or $1.99 books. These are deals, which insinuates that they are on sale or are free for a limited time.

Right now I’m looking for postings for June 25th through July and possibly the beginning of August, if you already have promotions planned for August. Tuesdays only, please. I am not looking to promote ebook deals on any other day of the week. This is an experiment to replace my former Guest Bloggers, which I had stop hosting completely when I hurt my rotator cuff.

So if you’re a reader looking for great ebook deals, make sure to check back every Tuesday to see what I have listed.

If you’re an author of romance or women’s fiction (including sub-genres thereof) and would like me to feature your ebook deal, please email me to see if space is available for your preferred dates and then I’ll send you the requirements (book cover, sale price, dates, yadda). Please do not email me asking for whatever I have available. You ask for the dates, and I’ll tell you what I have.

Also please don’t ask in the comments section. You are free to comment about the concept in the Comments section, but I prefer dealing with the behind the scenes issues behind the scenes. 🙂

I’m looking forward to this new blog feature! I still plan on blogging about my trip to China and want to ease back into blogging about life in general and my writing. However, I am trying to focus on finishing BORROWING ALEX for Indie re-issue, and, well, there’s a blog post that should go with that. I shouldn’t talk about it now. I should remain focused on this blog subject. So I will. No talking about BORROWING ALEX until at least tomorrow.

See? I can be good.

Monday Deal: Susan Fox’s Finding Isadora

I mentioned a few entries ago that I would be posting once a week about Free and Bargain (sale-priced) ebooks. I’m still going to do that, starting in a week or two, but it’s going to be on Tuesdays instead of Mondays like I originally envisioned. However, to start me off, a multi-published friend just put up her first Indie release, and it’s available free today, Monday, June 17th only. The author is Susan Fox and the book is FINDING ISADORA. FINDING ISADORA is regularly priced at $3.99. So hop on over to Amazon and check it out.

He’s the worst man in the world for her. So why can’t she resist him?

Raised by hippies, veterinarian Isadora Wheeler yearns for security, marriage, and fidelity. Her fiancĂ© fits comfortably into her plans. When Isadora meets activist lawyer Gabriel DeLuca, who’s defending her father on an arson charge, “comfortable” is not the word she’d use. Gabriel awakens her passion and makes her question everything she knows about life—and love. Should she stick to the safe path or does she have the guts to follow her heart?

FREE today on Amazon.

Calling Canadian Romance Authors…

Once upon a time, there was a group of Canadian Romance Authors with an official web presence. For whatever reason, I didn’t join this group and it ultimately disbanded (probably because I didn’t join it—snarf!) (I’m a card). Now, thanks to one of the members of the original group, Canadian Romance Authors has been resurrected. We have an email loop, and as of today we also have a new Facebook page. Feel free to pop over to “like” the page and visit often to keep up on all our news, including contests, book releases and other wild and wacky Canadian thingies. Like, someone might post a picture of a moose sometime. Or a hole in the ground. You just never know.

If you’re a Canadian romance author and you’d like to join the group, drop me a line and I’ll put you in touch with the loop moderator. There’s also instructions in the About section of the Facebook page.

Bits O’ News

Yesterday, HEAD OVER HEELS was featured on EBook Impresario as a Bargain Book. You can still go over and check the listing. Ebook Impresario also has a Facebook page, which you can “like” to receive updates about free and bargain books to your Facebook feed. Plus, they have a newsletter. Check ’em out.

While you’re at Facebook, you can go ahead and like my author page, if you haven’t already done so.

Also, if you like erotic romance with a humorous touch, check out my pal, my buddy, my lifelong friend, Kate St. James on Facebook. Did you know Kate’s erotic romance single title from Samhain Publishing, A LITTLE WILD, is currently a finalist for the Bookseller’s Best Award, Erotic Division? Well, it is! I think that’s pretty great news.

Congratulations, Kate!

Excuses…and an Idea

The nice thing about not blogging often is that I don’t have 60 spam comments waiting for me to wade through when I log in. The bad thing is it looks like I’m getting lazy.

I’m not getting lazy; I’m just super busy with non-writing stuff and am just getting back into writing again after a trip to China with my husband, during which a family member had a nasty fall that eventually led to her demise. We made it back home in time to see her—thank God—but I have needed time to grieve as well as support other family members in their grief, and now, thank God again, we are gearing up to a happy time. Youngest Son is getting married this summer! Also, a niece is having a baby. Yay.

As for writing, I am working on revising and updating BORROWING ALEX for Indie re-issue, and it’s going very well when I have time to work on it. I’m looking at a July or August release, but I can’t get any more exact for awhile. I also have two other manuscripts in various stages of needing-to-revise or needing-to-polish, and I also plan to Indie publish those. Maybe one in 2013 and the other in 2014. Plus, I have my short story series to finish.

So, there’s lots going on, but behind the scenes.

Once June is here and a host of family obligations are behind me, I will try (note emphasis) to get back to a more regular blogging schedule. I would ideally like to blog twice a week, and I am considering making one of those days, or a third day, a post devoted to other self-published authors and their books. Nothing too fancy. I found when I hosted guest-bloggers that I spent precious writing hours working up posts and then trying to get people to comment so I could give away books from those talented authors. I can no longer afford the time to host guest bloggers, but I am thinking of doing a Monday Deals type of thing, where every Monday I would post covers, blurbs and links to a few Indie-published books that are either new or on promotion. I need to put some more thought into it and then get a lead-time going so I don’t feel inundated. Other authors do this type of thing on their blogs. For instance, author Lauren Royal featured one of my books on her Friday Freebies day not long ago. That is the type of feature I am thinking of implementing. It would still allow me to get the word out about authors and their books while also pointing my readers to some great ebook deals—other than mine!

What do you think?
