How to find my books!

Oh, gosh, I haven’t been on my blog in forever. Yes, I am still writing, despite the universe’s attempts to throw me off-course. In my turtle fashion, I am finding my way back!

I am, in fact, working on updating and revising Deceiving Derek and Catching Claire in Love & Other Calamities, and I am writing the next 3 titles in the series, which will be novella length (20,000 – 40,000 words).

After that, I really, really, really need to redesign my website and move it to a mobile-friendly platform. But I don’t want to redesign my site (which I’m doing myself, so will need to learn) until these books are up for preorder.

And…I just found out there is a problem with several of my book links to retailers on the current version of my website. I don’t know when that issue will be fixed, as it’s out of my control. It’s a 3rd-party issue. The best I can do for now, rather than going through every book page and redoing the links, when, due to circumstances arising from a twist of fate about three years ago, would be a real PITA to do and get in the way of finishing my series, I am going to quickly list my books here, and each book will have a Universal Book Link that will take you to the store of your choice.

If you’re reading this blog post on my website, you can take a gander to the sidebar on the right, and each of those book covers, which previously pointed to individual website pages on this site with all the buy links, will now point to a Books2Read Universal Book Link. Same as you’ll find right below.

You are still free to visit my Books page and have a look at individual book pages on this site; it’s just some of the links work and some don’t. You can read excerpts, check out covers, everything you always could do. But if the links on that page don’t work, just come here and use follow a Books2Read Universal Book Link to get to the store of your choice!

Thank you for putting up with this disruption. The problem could be fixed within days, or not. I just don’t know. So this is the best workaround I could think of, as my website design software is truly ancient, and it’s on a 10-year-old computer I don’t often have access to. I want to keep writing my series and THEN redo my website, and I hope you agree that that’s the best use of my time. I do write under a second name, and when I redo my site, I will bring those books into the fold. Moving forward, I am focusing on my books as Cindy.

Irritatingly enough, I can’t figure out how to link the book covers in this post to the links on Books2Read, but you can follow the text links or use the right sidebar!!

That’s it, and thank you for your patience! Trust me when I say I would have been regularly writing and publishing books these last three years if possible. Rather than super slowly putting out the rest of Love & Other Calamities, I thought it best to write them all and THEN slowly come back from. The. Publishing. Grave.

Love in the Pacific Northwest 2-Book Collection!

Hey, all!

I haven’t been around the blog in quite a while. There are myriad reasons, including (a) getting in a car accident in May of 2018 that greatly affected the amount of time I was able to work at my computer; (b) my husband retiring from his “day job” in February 2019, making this a year of transition as we learn how to navigate around each other; and (c) we are renovating the entire basement, which is taking months longer than we anticipated – DH started in April – and any time I might have gotten at the computer since around August has instead been devoted to helping. Yep, I’m finally feeling good enough in my neck and shoulders to write, but instead I’m a carpenter’s assistant.

There, you have all my excuses. Life threw me an unanticipated curveball with the accident. I was rear-ended multiple times by the same fellow, who did not seem to know how to take his foot off the gas. It was kind of like being a piece of popcorn in a hot air maker while riding bumper cars at the fair. The writing, shall we say, has suffered. I promise I will get back to writing soon. In the meantime, I’ve bundled up the first two novels in LOVE IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST at a cost savings to my very patient readers. The collection includes the updated editions of HEAD OVER HEELS and BORROWING ALEX. If you haven’t read them yet, here’s your chance to save some dough over buying the books separately. If you have read one or the other before but want to check out the updated versions, this bundle is where it’s at! Expect a lot of sass, a ton of fun, some hot lovin’, and lots and lots of laughs!

Love This New Cover for Borrowing Alex!

I lurv, lurv, LOVE the new cover for BORROWING ALEX!

The female model in the photo is actually the same girl from the previous BORROWING ALEX cover, but now she’s up close with her guy. My cover artist, Kim Killion, has done an amazing job pulling together a look for the Love in the Pacific Northwest series.

Check out BORROWING ALEX at these retailers:

By the way, did you know you can now buy eBooks at Wal-Mart? BORROWING ALEX currently has a limited time $3 off savings at Wal-Mart! Check it out here!

New Cover for Head Over Heels!

I’ve been remiss in posting my new covers. Love in the Pacific Northwest is now a trilogy, and Kim Killion of The Killion Group created a wonderful look for the series of stand-alone romantic comedies. Head Over Heels and Borrowing Alex are now both updated to 2018 in story and technology as well.

What’s Whitelisting, Anyway?

I can’t claim to have a lot of knowledge about techy stuff, but recently I learned about whitelisting or “always approving” (which sounds better, IMO) emails from David Gaughran’s weekly email newsletter for authors. Basically, whitelisting is a way for email users to put you (or me, in this case) on an Approved list so your (er, my) emails don’t wind up in the Spam or Promotions or Junk or dratted Cyber-Goop folders.

Cyber-Goop is sticky, icky stuff. Although, it sounds cute. It should. I just made it up. So don’t go trademarking it on me now.

As it so happens, I want my readers to receive my emails. You know, the ones they signed up for. So today I sent out a stripped-to-the-bones plain Jane email about how to “Always Approve” my email address. If you’re pretty sure you’ve signed up for my email newsletter but have never received it, feel free to hop on over to my brand new handy-dandy Whitelist Instructions page. It opens in a new window but lacks a link back to my website (how did I let that happen?).

The page does have a link to the developers at the bottom, so if you’re an author who would like Whitelist Instructions for your own site, click through and scroll to the bottom for the developer’s link.

No, I’m not writing my email address in this blog post. Whenever I do that, I wind up with robots trying to get jiggy with me. And that just won’t do.

If you want to sign up for my email newsletter, I’d love to have you! But you gotta work just a little bit for it. You have to visit my Contact page (oh, the horror!) and fill out the form that is handily-dandily perched right up top.

If you really, really, really want to email me, there’s an email form on the Contact page right below the Newsletter Signup. Yes, I know, I’m aggravating. Someday, like within the next 8 – 16 months, I’ll bust a move away from my HTML site and onto designing something more mobile-friendly, but for now we’re stuck here.

Other new things around the site:

Why don’t I post the new covers on the blog? Well, I will. I promise. Just not today. (Although you can glimpse them in the sidebar).
